Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a websiteor a web page in a search engine‘s “natural,” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”), search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local searchvideo searchacademic search,[1] news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The acronym “SEOs” can refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTMLsource code of a site and site content, SEO tactics may be incorporated into website development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe website designs, menuscontent management systems, images, videos, shopping carts, and other elements that have been optimized for the purpose of search engine exposure.

The effectiveness of SEO may be measured by the position of a web site on a Search Engine Results Page (SERP) when searching for a certain keyword, or by web analytics Key Performance Indexes (KPIs).

History

Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines in the mid-1990s, as the first search engines were cataloging the early Web. Initially, all webmasters needed to do was to submit the address of a page, or URL, to the various engines which would send a “spider” to “crawl” that page, extract links to other pages from it, and return information found on the page to beindexed.[2] The process involves a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine’s own server, where a second program, known as an indexer, extracts various information about the page, such as the words it contains and where these are located, as well as any weight for specific words, and all links the page contains, which are then placed into a scheduler for crawling at a later date.

Site owners started to recognize the value of having their sites highly ranked and visible in search engine results, creating an opportunity for both white hat and black hat SEO practitioners. According to industry analyst Danny Sullivan, the phrase “search engine optimization” probably came into use in 1997.[3] The first documented use of the term Search Engine Optimization was John Audette and his company Multimedia Marketing Group as documented by a web page from the MMG site from August, 1997.[4]

Early versions of search algorithms relied on webmaster-provided information such as the keyword meta tag, or index files in engines like ALIWEB. Meta tags provide a guide to each page’s content. Using meta data to index pages was found to be less than reliable, however, because the webmaster’s choice of keywords in the meta tag could potentially be an inaccurate representation of the site’s actual content. Inaccurate, incomplete, and inconsistent data in meta tags could and did cause pages to rank for irrelevant searches.[5][unreliable source?] Web content providers also manipulated a number of attributes within the HTML source of a page in an attempt to rank well in search engines.[6]

By relying so much on factors such as keyword density which were exclusively within a webmaster’s control, early search engines suffered from abuse and ranking manipulation. To provide better results to their users, search engines had to adapt to ensure theirresults pages showed the most relevant search results, rather than unrelated pages stuffed with numerous keywords by unscrupulous webmasters. Since the success and popularity of a search engine is determined by its ability to produce the most relevant results to any given search, allowing those results to be false would turn users to find other search sources. Search engines responded by developing more complex ranking algorithms, taking into account additional factors that were more difficult for webmasters to manipulate. Graduate students at Stanford UniversityLarry Page and Sergey Brin, developed “Backrub,” a search engine that relied on a mathematical algorithm to rate the prominence of web pages. The number calculated by the algorithm, PageRank, is a function of the quantity and strength of inbound links.[7] PageRank estimates the likelihood that a given page will be reached by a web user who randomly surfs the web, and follows links from one page to another. In effect, this means that some links are stronger than others, as a higher PageRank page is more likely to be reached by the random surfer.

Page and Brin founded Google in 1998. Google attracted a loyal following among the growing number of Internet users, who liked its simple design.[8] Off-page factors (such as PageRank and hyperlink analysis) were considered as well as on-page factors (such as keyword frequency, meta tags, headings, links and site structure) to enable Google to avoid the kind of manipulation seen in search engines that only considered on-page factors for their rankings. Although PageRank was more difficult to game, webmasters had already developed link building tools and schemes to influence the Inktomi search engine, and these methods proved similarly applicable to gaming PageRank. Many sites focused on exchanging, buying, and selling links, often on a massive scale. Some of these schemes, or link farms, involved the creation of thousands of sites for the sole purpose of link spamming.[9]

By 2004, search engines had incorporated a wide range of undisclosed factors in their ranking algorithms to reduce the impact of link manipulation. Google says it ranks sites using more than 200 different signals.[10] The leading search engines, GoogleBing, andYahoo, do not disclose the algorithms they use to rank pages. SEO service providers, such as Rand Fishkin, Barry Schwartz, Aaron Wall and Jill Whalen, have studied different approaches to search engine optimization, and have published their opinions in onlineforums and blogs.[11][12] SEO practitioners may also study patents held by various search engines to gain insight into the algorithms.[13]

www.pamlawhome.com

Joseph Finkelberg SEO Guest BlogGuest blogging usually precedes PPC but they aren’t mutually exclusive. In order to succeed in PPC, you need to have a very streamlined conversion funnel. In other words, you need to know that for every $1 you spend on PPC you’re earning $1.20 or more back from the lifetime value of that customer – even if you lose money for the first few weeks or months. Guest blog posting will allow you to generate the initial traffic you need to figure out your lifetime customer value.

Guest posting won’t get you as much traffic as PPC and it won’t be as consistent either. However, the traffic you’ll get will be targeted and it will be free (except for the time spent on writing the post of course.) One great strategy is to use guest blog posting to fine-tune your funnel and make sure you can convert before you move onto paid traffic methods.

Joseph Finkelberg’s Tip #1: Get Backlinks for Your Website

One of the famous seo techniques that you can use to rank your site in Google is backlink. This is easy for any marketer to achieve his success online.  As an SEO campaign, it will significantly climb your site high up to page 1 of Google results. However, you need to be careful with those links because not all are equal and can be very beneficial for your site. Some may valuable while others are not. Here are some top ten backlink techniques, stated by Joseph Finkelberg to help you become an SEO expert in terms of backlink.

Dofollow Blog Commenting Primer

www.thebitbot.com

Joseph FinkelbergAre you new to SEO? Do you need backlinks? One way you can get them is to comment on blogs that link out. These days many blogs link out, but not all link out without applying the nofollow attribute. Once the nofollow attribute is applied to your link, it no longer passes on the trust and reputation necessary for your website. Once the nofollow attribute is applied, the link is only good for indexing your website or page and click thru traffic that is browsing the blog.

The trick to benefiting from blog commenting as an SEO strategy is to find blogs that have not applied the nofollow attribute and that have moderators checking the comments manually. Comments that are auto-approved by the blog will be spammed relentlessly by spammers and any value that your link may contain will quickly and ruthlessly be diluted to a valueless state.

High PR Blog Commenting Technique #2

www.seodiscovery.com

Joseph FinkelbergBlog Commenting is an excellent way to build quality links to your site.  As a fairly simple and efficient means of backlinking, it is ideal for deep linking and traffic purposes for every page of your blog/site.

Blog commenting is pretty simple, but there is a right way and many wrong ways to do it.  We’re going to define the “right” way to do it now.

Whenever backlinking or optimizing, it is essential to remember your purpose: to increase your rank in order to get targeted traffic.  With this in mind, it only makes sense to attempt to get targeted traffic while practicing SEO (the means IS the end).  This means leaving thought provoking and authoritative comments.

Another technique used by Joseph Finkelberg is the method described in this blog. Learn more by visiting www.seodiscovery.com.

Your Dream Links Are EASY to Find

Joseph FinkelbergHave you ever focused on SEO so hard that you have dreams about link building? I’ve had entire slumbers spent in the SERPs for my keywords. Pretty lame dream I guess, but it brings me to a point: what is your dream backlink? If you could have the perfect backlink what qualities would it have?

For starters, you’d want it to be “dofollow” so that it passes the link juice. You would also want it to have as much PR as possible and be relevant to your keyword, and what the hell, how about some traffic from the link as well? The question is, does such a link exist and is it within our means of acquiring? The answer is a resounding yes, and believe it or not, I’m talking about blog comments.

Finding Do-Follow Comment Blogs in Your Niche

www.speckygeeky.com

Joseph FinkelbergHow to improve your website’s ranking on search engines? Search engine optimization (SEO) expert will advise you to build more and more backlinks to your website.

Backlinks are hyperlinks to your website. These need to be “do-follow” links which tell search engines that the linked website is a trusted one. More backlinks means more people trust the site. Backlinks are most effective when the anchor text to which the link is added is the targeted keyword.

How do you get “do-follow” links with appropriate anchor text? You can buy them, ask friends to provide them or create good content that other people link to.

“Site ranking depends on how good you are.” –Joseph Finkelberg

Get backlinks from Do Follow blogs

www.seotrafficguide.com

Joseph FinkelbergGetting links to to your site from other sites is what drives you up in the search engine rankings. Getting links with an anchor text that you can determine makes the real difference…So how does this all work here?

First of all – you can get free backlinks, but it is a little bit of work involved… You have to find blogs that do not use the nofollow attribute in their links… What is the “nofollow attribute”? Basically it tells search engines to disregard the link to your site! So we need blogs that do follow (and of course have commenting enabled)!

Luckily, finding those is quite easy now, just go to the search form and enter a keyword or keyword phrase for which you want to find do follow blogs. This does not have to be the keyword that you want to rank for or that you want to use when you write blog comments, it just have to describe the topic you are looking for. In fact it is better to choose a broader approach, as you will receive more blogs if you use a more general search term.

When the system has finished checking all the sites for DoFollow, you will receive an email with a list of blogs for your topic – depending on how popular the topic actually is. Obviously this is the reason why you have to use a working email address…

Do Follow Blogs are good blogs in which you comment with. Learn more by visiting www.seotrafficguide.com/ of Joseph Finkelberg.

Auto Drive Away Services: An Alternative to Car Shipping

Autodrive awayIf you have already purchased a car online, you definitely need a way back to your home or if you are tired of driving your own car, the best solution for this is an auto drive away service

A drive away auto service is an alternative method for car shipping because of its cost saving benefit for every consumer. At the same destination, your car will be transported by a trailer in which a drive away car service works. You might be surprised that there are other cars in the trailer. In fact, an effective drive away auto sales will accommodate many customers and load their cars onto a trailer. The reason is that it is more economical to have several cars onto a trailer than a few of them. However, this will cause delays to get into your destination as they wait a number of vehicles in the same direction. If you prefer to use auto drive away services than a car shipping company, a person is assigned to drive your car until it reaches its destination. The travel time will depend whether the trailer gets other vehicles along your way.

The use of drive away service is cheaper than using a shipping company. However, there are problems that might occur as you go along with the service. You will only add costs if the service puts miles on your car. Charges such as oil and fluid changes will make the service costs go higher. Also, if a problem happens with your car along your way, you should also pay the time in the shop as well as the lodging for the driver.

Not all drive away drivers are trained and professional. The quality of their service depends upon the training they undergo from the company. Remember to look for an experienced driver that can do his job well since his task is to get your car to its destination. Otherwise, the company will get negative feedback from its customers.

Do research online about the different auto drive away services. Compare the quality of their service whether they are insured or not. Make sure that the company is legit to perform its service. There are certifications and perhaps, awards that will prove that they are effective in this industry.

If you wish to use an auto drive away services, why not type a keyword and look for different drive away companies located near you. One best example of this kind of service is CLR Auto Transport service. Their professional drivers pick up the vehicle and drive it directly to the delivery destination. This service is generally the most cost-effective and provides the fastest response time. Generally, their drivers can pick up the vehicle within 24-72 hours after initial contact with the pickup representative. The vehicle is delivered washed and interior vacuumed, fueled and ready for service at its new location immediately, upon delivery. What is the advantage of using CLR Auto Transport Company? They provide high quality services and had been proven to be effective to their clients like Clarins USA and Crossmark, Inc.

In addition, CLR Auto Transport service has its average transit time for drive away service. Depending upon the exact mileage and available routes, the following transit times can be anticipated, in most cases:

Under 250 miles – same day delivery

250 – 700 miles – next delivery

700-1500 miles – three days delivery
